PHOTOS THAT FEEL REAL, NOT RUSHED

When clients come to me for a family session, many of them are surprised by how enjoyable the experience can be. They didn’t realize that a photo session could be fun, laid-back, and filled with snuggles, laughter, and genuine moments. I use a mix of prompts, jokes, and gentle guidance to get everyone comfortable, starting with a few posed shots and then letting the family take the lead. For families with smaller children, the session is even more relaxed. I follow their moods, letting them take a moment to check out a frog or pick a flower if that’s what they need. We aren’t watching the clock; instead, we’re looking for what feels right, what truly captures the essence of your family. I also hear that no one will cooperate during a family photo session. But that’s where the magic of letting the kids “lead” comes in. By allowing them to explore and be themselves, and by using a few well-timed bad jokes, we create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can just be who they are. The result? Photos that feel real, not forced.

I always encourage families to schedule a consultation with me before booking a session. It’s an opportunity to discuss your needs and vision, see some samples, and break the ice. I’m not a fan of meeting right before the photoshoot; I’d much rather plan the session together making sure you will feel comfortable and look your best in front of the camera.
