A Little Slice of Magic: Daydream Swing Portraits in Mercer, PA
There is an age when girls are beginning to grow into themselves, but a little bit of childhood magic will always follow them around.
They may be too old for some of the things they once loved, yet still light up over a flower crown, a beautiful dress or the chance to step barefoot into the grass and pretend the rest of the world has disappeared for a little while.
That is the feeling behind the Daydream Swing portraits, a whimsical portrait experience for older girls and teens at my photography studio in Mercer, PA.
A wooden swing covered in soft pink and pastel flowers will be tucked beneath the trees behind my studio. She can let her long dress trail through the grass, swing beneath the leaves, hold a bouquet or bring something that belongs in her own version of the story.
Maybe that is a favorite book she has read a dozen times. A stuffed animal she is not quite ready to put away. A flower crown, a small bouquet or simply the dress she feels beautiful wearing.
For moms searching for a unique portrait session for an older daughter in Western Pennsylvania, this is something a little different from the usual school pictures or family portraits. The flower-covered swing, wooded setting and soft summer details create photographs that feel imaginative without making her feel childish.
The sessions are created for girls ages 10 and up, including tweens, teenagers and high school girls. A pastel-colored, flowy dress or skirt works beautifully with the setting, especially when it catches the breeze or pools around the wooden swing.
The outdoor portrait location is behind my Mercer, Pennsylvania studio, making it convenient for families traveling from Grove City, Hermitage, Sharon, Greenville, Slippery Rock and other communities throughout Mercer County and Western PA.
It is a small and simple moment, but one you both will remember long after the summer has passed.
