Spooky Carnival Halloween Photoshoot in Mercer, PA

Halloween is already one of the most fun times of year for pictures, so for this session we leaned all the way into it with a spooky carnival set inside my Mercer, PA photography studio.

Family pictures with little kids rarely happen by standing everyone in one spot and asking them to smile for an hour. There’s usually movement. There’s usually laughing. There may be some running. And there is almost always a parent doing something ridiculous behind me to get a good reaction. That’s all part of it.

For this spooky carnival session, Mom helped get him into place when we needed it, made him laugh, danced behind the camera, and kept things moving while I stayed ready for the moments in between. My goal isn’t to make kids act perfectly. It’s to create an environment where the adults feel they can be patient enough for the good stuff to happen.
